Is AI Gurukul worth it? An honest review from the founder

A founder reviewing his own community is not a fair judge. I know that. So instead of selling it, I will tell you exactly what is inside today, what is not, what it really costs, and who should not join. If it still sounds right, try the 7 free days and decide with your own eyes.

What is AI Gurukul?

AI Gurukul is a paid online community on Skool where people who do not code learn to build AI Employees with Claude. An AI Employee is an AI agent with a clear job: you give it instructions, the information it needs and safe access to a few apps, and it does that job for you, again and again, while you check its work. Gurukul is the old Indian word for a school where students learned by living and working beside a teacher. That is the idea: you learn by building, not by watching.

Who runs it?

I do. I am Akash Gupta. I studied at IIM Ahmedabad, have been in business for 20 years, and built Peepoye on YouTube to over 1 million subscribers. I do not write code. My own company runs on AI Employees I built with Claude, each one checked by a person. AI Gurukul teaches the same method.

What is live today?

• The 7 Day Challenge: build your first AI Employee. Get Ready (Claude Pro, VS Code and Claude Code set up), then one part a day: meet your assistant, give it a brain, teach it a job, give it hands, rules and testing, put it on a timer, and on Day 7 its birth day. The first build is an AI Personal Assistant, because it is the safest place to learn. After that, you build the next one for any job you want off your plate. • A starter folder and a help thread for every day, so you are never stuck alone.
• Sakha (your #1 companion at AI Gurukul). The AI Employee who welcomes you with a 5 minute chat when you join. Sakha is a Hindi word for a close friend.
• AI Sabha (live showcase). The first Saturday of every month at 6pm India time. Members show what they built, and I show my own AI Employees at work. Sabha means a gathering.
• Levels. Help others and you level up through nine levels, each with an Indian name and its English meaning: Shishya (AI Seeker), Sadhak (AI Learner), Shilpi (AI Builder), Senapati (AI Chief), Maharathi (AI Hero), Samrat (AI Emperor), Acharya (AI Mentor), Rishi (AI Seer) and Guru (AI Guru).

What is not open yet?

Six courses make up the path after your first AI Employee. They unlock at Level 5, Maharathi (AI Hero). They open as you climb:

What does it really cost?

I put Claude's cost in front of you on purpose. The community is cheap. The AI tool is the bigger cost, and you would pay it whether you learn with us or alone. Plan by plan, with rupee prices, see Is Claude Code free?

Why a card for a free trial?

Because free groups fill up with people who never build anything, and with spam. Asking for a card keeps the room for people who mean it. It also means you should note the date your trial ends, and cancel before then if it is not for you. No hard feelings.

Who is AI Gurukul for?

• Founders and solo business owners doing every job themselves, or carrying the cost of hiring and training. See the first jobs to hand over.
• Office workers who want hours back and want to be the person at work who knows how to set up AI.
• Creators who want help with research, scripts and repurposing.
• People building something beside a job.
• College students 18 or older. Claude accounts are for adults 18+. Under 18? Learn it together: the parent builds the assistant, and the child learns alongside.

Who should not join?

• People looking for income. We make no income promises. We teach you to build AI Employees that save your own time and cost.
• Programmers who want deep technical training. This is built for people who do not code.

• Anyone who will not check the AI's work. Every build here keeps a person in charge.

What are the honest downsides?

• It is new. The group is still small. That also means your posts get seen and answered, not lost in a feed of thousands.
• The next six courses unlock at Level 5. You start with the 7 Day Challenge, and the rest opens as you climb.
• You need Claude Pro. That is the real cost, about USD 20 a month.
• You need a laptop and patience. The first AI Employee takes a week of small steps and testing.

What do you get out of it, if it works for you?

The point is not one assistant. It is that you learn to delegate work to AI, then do it again for the next job, and the next. Each AI Employee saves you time, takes no salary, gets work done faster, and skips the cycle of hiring, training and watching people leave. That is how a business grows without you doing every job. And when you build one, you keep it: the folder is yours.

So, is AI Gurukul worth it?

If you are the person in the "who it is for" list, and you are willing to spend a week building, then for USD 6 a month I think it is. If you are not sure, do not take my word for it. Use the 7 free days, finish Get Ready and Day 1, and judge from that. If it is not for you, cancel before the trial ends.
